Getting Around

Feb 19, 2005 1:55 PM Bermuda taxi drivers are known to be informative and friendly. In fact, many see themselves as unofficial ambassadors for our Island. All taxis are metered and rates are set by our Government. In addition, many of our taxi drivers are also excellent tour guides—please contact your hotel concierge to locate taxi companies that also offer tour services.

Jul 13, 2004 6:35 AM Motor scooters are available for rental and the required helmet is provided. You'll find many vendors conveniently located around the dock. If your ship is to stay at the same dock for a couple of days in a row be sure to inquire about multi-day rentals. No drivers license is needed for motor scooter rental. Driving is on the left side of the road, and the maximum speed limit in Hamilton is 25 kph (15 mph); 35 kph (21 mph) on the rest of the island. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to drive.

Jul 13, 2004 6:30 AM The bus network covers all major routes, and nearly all hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants have bus stops close by. There's even a do-it-yourself sightseeing tour by bus and ferry. Regularly scheduled buses go to most of the destinations that interest visitors in Bermuda.
